SciTech Master Plan
Columbus, Ohio
Science & Technology Campus Corporation
Machines in the prairie
SciTech is a non-profit company founded
to develop new or renovated facilities to house developing
technology-based businesses that grow from University research.
Sci Tech controls a motley collection of disconnected properties
on the west campus of the University both land and
buildings through a master lease with, and major financial
support from, The Ohio State University, and with additional
financial support from the City of Columbus, and the State
of Ohio. The arrangement permits SciTech to develop new construction
in increments of 50,000 square feet. The Science & Technology
Campus may expand beyond the initial 37 acre holding, depending
upon the development plan success.
The Master Plan strategy includes
preservation of the prairie project lands and
the open space meadows of west campus sites, achievement of
development presence through a clustering of projects, and
the development of architecturally unique facilities which
celebrate the technologies of both architecture and research.
