Preservation of Ohio's Historic National
Road--now both a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road--required
design guidelines to fit development patterns across ten Ohio
counties covering 13 cities, 16 villages, and 38 townships.
Development patterns covered centuries of development trends
in a variety of settings--from scenic rural and historic pike
towns to commercial main streets and suburban development.
Working with a team of historic preservationists and landscape
architects, Lincoln Street Studio helped produce the resulting
document that illustrates development best practices and guidelines
to preserve the historic variety and character of the National
Road.
